Island Queen Cruises

By: Dave Anderson

The 30,000 Island Cruise Line has been introducing people from all over the world to the beauty of Georgian Bay for 50 years. The third-generation family business started in the late 1960’s with a couple of converted taxi boats and has grown to include both the 550-passenger Island Queen and the new 40-passenger zodiac-style Islander in its fleet.

The Cruise Line has partnered with the GBBR for the last two years to offer a variety of eco-tours aboard the new Islander to places like Wreck Island and Huckleberry Island. A naturalist from the GBBR joins each eco-tour to lead interpretive walks on the islands and the tours have become quite popular, rivalling the Islander’s Henry’s Fish Restaurant trips in numbers.  The 30,000 Island Cruise Line feels very blessed to be able to work alongside the wonderful people at GBBR and is looking forward to many more years of partnerships.
